I've always had an affinity for my ethnic roots. My parents were born in Portugal and it was important to them that I spent time there as a young girl. My first plane ride was to Lisbon when I was only 3 and then my second was to Madeira Island, my "mother-island". In college I spent a month in Lisbon studying abroad and fell in love with the capital city.

In 2019, I visited the Minho region of Portugal for the first time. There I was amazed by the numerous artisans making all different handmade goods inspired by their own love for Portugal. As soon as I got home from that trip, I decided I would try my hand at sewing as my grandmother was a very talented seamstress. A few months after I purchased my first sewing machine, the pandemic hit and I had all the time to practice my new hobby.

My goal for Paixão by Xtina is to make modern, high quality products that are inspired by the beauty of Portuguese culture. My hope is that you wear my products with "orgulho" (pride) and that they remind you to always stay passionate about what you love.
